Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Horus Alpha ("we") collects when you use horusalpha.com, The Eye Studio and Horus Radar (the "Service"), why, and what you can do about it.

1. What we collect

We do not collect payment details (there is nothing to pay for yet), government identifiers, or precise location.

  • Account data: when you sign in with Google we receive your Google account email address, display name and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Radar activity: the X handles or links you paste, the results returned, when you checked them, and your remaining check allowance.
  • Usage data: pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, collected through Google Analytics on our public pages. Analytics is not loaded on signed-in app screens.
  • Technical data: server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, user agent) kept for security and debugging.
  • Cookies: a session cookie so you stay signed in, a theme cookie for light or dark mode, and Google Analytics cookies on public pages.

2. Why we use it

  • To run the Service: sign you in, remember your settings, run and store your Radar checks, enforce limits and prevent abuse.
  • To improve it: understand which pages and features are used.
  • To keep in touch: we may email the address on your account with research, product updates and the Horus Alpha newsletter. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time without losing access.
  • To comply with law and enforce our Terms, including the restricted-jurisdiction rule.

3. Public X data

Horus Radar processes publicly available X (Twitter) profile and follow data — handles, display names, bios, avatars, follower counts and who follows whom — obtained through third-party APIs. We add our own editorial tags to some accounts. We do not access private accounts, direct messages or anything behind a login.

If you are an X user and want a note we hold about your public account corrected or removed, contact us (section 8).

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with providers that run the Service for us, each bound by their own terms and security commitments:

We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Horus Alpha, our users or the public.

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
  • Vercel — web hosting and content delivery.
  • Google — sign-in (Google OAuth) and analytics (Google Analytics 4) on public pages.
  • TwitterAPI.io and X — retrieval of public X data when a check runs. Your account details are not sent to them; only the public handle being checked.
  • Ghost — the content system behind our published research.

5. Retention

Account data is kept while your account exists and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request. Radar results are kept so that repeated checks can be served without a new lookup; a result may be reused for up to seven days and is retained after that for historical analysis in aggregate. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Analytics data follows Google Analytics' retention setting (14 months).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us (section 8). We will answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

You can stop analytics collection with a browser setting or extension, and clear cookies at any time; the Service will still work, though you will need to sign in again.

7. Security, transfers and children

Data is encrypted in transit, and secrets we hold on your behalf are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure; tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Our providers may process data in the United States, Singapore and the European Union. By using the Service you accept these transfers.

The Service is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the current version and material changes will be announced on the site.
